Middlesborough winger Downing is unlikely to figure in Saturday's cup-tie.
It is reported that if he plays one more game, a significant wage increase is triggered.
Apparently, Middlesborough are trying to unload him before the end of the month.

6According to this story Downings contract extension will be triggered after 1 more league game so expect him to play on Saturday

Who!!!
Re: Stewart Downing
8You may be right. Another scenario is he plays and is injured and thus becomes difficult to offload. Or again he plays, tears us to pieces and it's then difficult for Middlesbrough to justify to their supporters him not being picked for a league game.Snowman wrote:According to this story Downings contract extension will be triggered after 1 more league game so expect him to play on Saturday

No doubt we will find out Saturday.
Re: Stewart Downing
10I am not quite sure what my attendance or otherwise at the Riverside on Saturday has to do with whether or not Stewart Downing will be playing.Loyalfoot wrote:Will you be making the trip Stan

12How is it relevant to the topic at hand? This is an interesting thread which I suspect a lot of people would enjoy rather more without your tiresome petty behaviour.Loyalfoot wrote:It was a question but never mind.

14I am very pleased for you Colin. Although what that has to do with whether or not Stewart Downing will be playing against us on Saturday, is a total mystery.jonescmj1 wrote: I'm back and your still a shit stirrer!

Re: Stewart Downing
15I think Stuey will be on bench if included at all. We have a couple of up and coming lads who could be in before him , another speed machine Brihami , french lad who looks faster than Traore but knows when to pass and shoot. Had a couple of sub appearances in league cup.
Also look out for Nathan Wood , 17 year old centre back, had a couple of cup run outs and trains with first team . He is the son of Dean Gordon.
