I can see why Leagues 1 & 2 want the transfer window to extend 3 weeks into the season - possibly because this season they were unable to get all their business done before the season started. If I remember correctly though the loan market went to the end of August, so they were able some flexibility.

Personally I think clubs should persevere with the change made this season (that is the transfer window closing at the start of the Premiership and loans until the end of month) as players/Agents caught out this season might get their deals done sooner next off-season.

Makes sense to me - the unwanted players at higher levels filter down to the leagues below so it gives them the chance to move and play football rather than rot in the reserves
