Yeovil are our rivals in League Two.
The question that is pertinent is has we signed Gary Warren would you be happy, unhappy or wouldn't really mind either way?

I would have been very happy to see Warren return, therefore for me this is a bad signing. What is good for Yeovil is bad for us.

Absolutely. It is a judgement call and every one of us is entitled to take a view and opinions will vary.

On a related matter and just to be clear. I meant no criticism of you when I pointed out that you were wrong about Interbet being a South African company. Initially so did I by the way. The point I was trying to make, albeit inelegantly, was that one can have a total and sincere belief in something and still be wrong.

Yeovil will be a step up from the level he would have been playing at this season, probably a step up from the level his team achieved last season so will be interesting to see if he can cope. Not many players take a step up in class at the age of 33.

Yeovil are at RP on 15 September. I hope he gets a great reception (and expect he will) but at this stage in his career we have better, younger centrebacks.

Good point. If it was a choice between him and Franks on a 2 year contract I reckon we made the right choice.

I guess if he'd signed for us I would have to use the usual 'wait and see' yardstick. If it proved to be a bad decision by the club, it would be hard to handle, as he's one player whom it would be difficult to moan about, during or after a game.

Taking aside the emotion of what a great servant Gary was , can you imagine the hysteria if we had have signed a 33 year old from Scotland , that has not played in the football league on a 2 year contract?

A former Welsh international who is 8 months older and played a full season in the championship the season before last seems a a better deal to me , but time will tell.

Leaving aside all emotion as you ask and then going on to answer your question.

Can I imagine the hysteria on this board if we had signed Gary Warren on a two year contract?

Frankly, no.
