You're referring to goalkeeper Rhys Davies.
He departed Leicester in July this year.

He had a loan spell with County during the second half of the 2016 / 2017 season.

According to google Rhys Davies is out of the game. I wonder what happened there? One would think, when a young player leaves an EPL side, someone would offer him some sort of football gig.

A bit pedantic. I think we can be excused for calling a player who is on loan for a full season and plays a part in most league games that season "our player". Rather call them our players than ones contracted for 2 years and hardly play a match.
