Stop it !!
That reminds me
Re: Are we promotion candidates
4I don't think so. I still think we'll finish anywhere between 11th - 16th.
Would love it if we could though....

Re: Are we promotion candidates
5Up the port been drinking again, too inconsistent to get promotion.
Re: Are we promotion candidates
6Only 5 points off automatic promotion. A good loan window and who knows? Especially if we put a run together.

No sobber as a judge at the moment
We are picking up points of games we are not playing well which is a good sign
Re: Are we promotion candidates
8To early to tell, the makings of a promotion winning side is there, maybe a player or to needed.
Re: Are we promotion candidates
9I know it's HIGHLY unlikely, but, it's December and we're 14pts ahead of relegation.... Just remember, In March 2017 Leyton Orient were 15pts ahead of relegation......
Re: Are we promotion candidates
10Dropping too many stupid points. Barnet and Carlisle most recently. But as UTP says picking up points on the road unexpectedly. Wembley play off anyone?

11I do not understand this, do you mean Hartlepool ?Exile 1976 wrote:I know it's HIGHLY unlikely, but, it's December and we're 14pts ahead of relegation.... Just remember, In March 2017 Leyton Orient were 15pts ahead of relegation......
Re: Are we promotion candidates
12Astonishing to think we are just 4 wins and 2 draws away from last seasons total. I think it will be at least 50 points to guarantee survival this season though
Re: Are we promotion candidates
13It depends what you mean by back, it might be dependent on the Leeds result. I would imagine we need to ship players out before we can sign anymore.UPTHEPORT wrote:I believe we are now and I really hope the board back Mike in January

14I think you may well be right, this league is tight from top to bottom and anyone can beat anyone with the possible exception of the top few.Alan G Bryant wrote:Astonishing to think we are just 4 wins and 2 draws away from last seasons total. Re: Are we promotion candidates
15We're maybe play-off contenders, but we do need to stop losing games from a leading position. Those three points against Cambridge were huge, just like the win at Swindon. They keep us in the hunt. Take away those 6, + the 2 dropped against Carlisle and that's 8 points......take those 8 pts off our current total and see where we are then, so we've done very well to stay in touch with play-offs.
Challenging for promotion automatically would need us to find another gear, another level that I'm not sure we have.
I stand by my hope of finishing "something like 12th, on something like 66 pts"........that'll do me!
I'll tell you what we ARE doing though..... we're laying down one hell of a foundation for NEXT year!
