How much will the Spurs game be worth?

1
There are a number of posters on here that are good with numbers and working these things out.

So how much do you think this game will be worth to the club?

Let's say tickets are priced at roughly 30 - a conservative number to cover all options.

That equals 225000 with a crowd of 7500.

Now take into account TV revenue, corporate packages, prize money etc.

Anyone hazard a guess at how much this is potentially worth?

We won't get £30 *7500 as you have to factor in concessions. So let's say concessions take overall ticket sales to ~2/3rds of that total: £20*7500 = £150,000. After the VATman takes his slice you'll have ~£124000 total; but we only get 45% of that, which gives us ~£55,000.

TV money is about £114,000, which gives a base total of close to £170,000 (based on average ticket price of £20).

That's an estimate (probably a reasonable one). The rest, apart from prize money (£90k) is just guesswork.

Spurs only have a 51% win record in away FA cup ties (against ~75% win rate at home), and I think draws and losses are close to 25% each. So, we stand a "reasonable" chance of taking them back to Wembley... or winning at first game.

Will get a bit more than that. 4th round live tv is £144k to each club so would think we will get this.
General rule of thumb for budget purposes is club will pocket about 2/3 of the normal adult ticket price to allow for concessions and VAT so if we go with £30 it would give us £20 x 7,500 = £150k x 45% = £67k per club.
Would give us £211k plus any other add ons from the day. Guess if you get the live tv money like we did from BBC Wales then we won’t pick up additional highlights / radio monies but don’t know for sure.
Above rationale sort of adds up when BBC has confirmed we have made £250k from the cup run so far.

After all I suspect Harry Kane would earn far more than the sum on his own?
As a matter of law one of the fundamental principles which cannot be overridden is that it is your money and so long as it is not for the pursuance of crime you can invest it, spend it, stick it on the 2-30 at Fontwell or give it to who you please.

I take it, that’s a yes, they can waive it?

While the FA Cup Rules try to prevent it. It doesn't take a genius to get around the rules.

Out of interest, this is mentioned twice in the FA Cup Rules (covering both net gate receipts and prize money) and both times, the FA have considered it necessary to use bold type -

No competing Club shall make any Agreement with any other competing Club by which their obligations under the Rules regarding the sharing of net gate receipts may be varied or amended in any way. “Agreement” for the purpose of the Rules of the Competition means any agreement, arrangement, obligation, undertaking or understanding whether oral or written, formal or informal, contractual or otherwise, binding in law or otherwise, and of any nature whatsoever; and which includes for these purposes any attempt to enter into any such Agreement.

AND

No competing Club shall make any Agreement (as defined under these Competition Rules), whether direct or indirect, with any competing Club regarding the sharing of any payment to which they are entitled under the Competition Rules.
