The Neon in Clarence Place has a 40 ft screen.

That's a fantastic idea in my opinion. Get a big marquee in for it.

Nothing preventing anyone showing a BBC broadcast in a private location, charging for it might be a bit more questionable though...

To be honest, if I couldn't get a ticket i would rather be anywhere than yards away from those who did, what a tease being so close, hearing the atmosphere without being able to see it live!

It wouldn't cope with 8,500 going to the game and a couple of thousand just outside watching on a screen . Plus ..... the queue at the bar at half time is bad enough already !!!

It is viable to do the broadcast of course, it'll just cost the however many thousand quid it costs to broadcast subscription satellite/cable channels to the public (a pub owner might have an idea). Plus getting a screen and putting something on the floor for people to stand on, as I don't think doing something on the grass would be a good idea at this time of year. Also there's no way to make a profit from it other than additional beer sales which is limited by staffing costs and resource, so I doubt they'll consider it. Most who aren't going but are interested would prefer being at home or in the pub anyway I should think - it's still outside in January.

You be hard pushed to think of anywhere worse to watch it other than stood in the middle of the cabbage patch with a load of pissheads on a cold and wet January's day
