Re: Players already contracted?.....

It's not as if he's at the end of his career. If we want him to stay a second year, then negotiations will take place after Christmas and if he's had a good season he can ask for improved terms. Any team wanting to sign him won't be put off by a transfer fee and can put some of that money in the player's pocket. He's young and doesn't want, or need, to tie himself down.

Of the remaining players not contracted for next season (excluding loan players, obviously) - I'm guessing much will depend on who we could sign instead? Guessing Jahraldo, Turley and Jackson aren't getting new deals? Would expect Tozer to stay, no idea about Labadie, and Nouble/Hayes would be dependent on other options out there:

Bittner
Jahraldo
Turley
Labs
Tozer
Nouble
Hayes
Jackson

And is Bennett the only one on a two-year deal?

Hasn't Turley left Newport County by mutual consent?....or am I thinking of someone else? I thought a couple had gone that way.

Matty Dolan
Tom Owen-Evans
Josh Sheehan

Robbie Willmott
Lamar Reynolds
Padraig Amond

Whilst the midfield needs a lot of work, and a couple of decent forwards, we're looking pretty good already. A few quality additions and I'm quite excited about next season.

The Labadie contract talks are obviously on going and obviously Josh is not happy with the deal thus far or his agent is being greedy. But to me Labs will be a massive boost to next seasons play off hopes.
When he was captain he led by example and when he played more often than not we won (I think ? See below).
The guys injury prone I know but he is our Ramos of the team intimidates and the dark art specialist and can play aswell although I am not condoning what he did to Salah. Ramos that is.
Newgroundrodney or any other stats. masters could you attain the points gained with and without Labadie playing this season to see what influence he has on the team. It might have already been done but if not could anyone come up with the figures. Many thanks !

But given the truncated timelines, a fair comparison would be July 3rd.

Before becoming a solicitor my wife was a nurse.I asked her about cruciate ligament injuries. She explained that the cruciate ligament went across as opposed to down, hence the name. (I know, obvious when you think about it.) Anyway I then asked how long these injuries took to mend. She is of the view that for day to day living a few months. Her further view was though that for an athlete, the answer was possibly never. That at the level of a professional footballer sooner or later, and in her view probably sooner, the injury would reoccur.

Unlike bones which mend harder, with ligaments once there is a tear the ligament was much more likely to tear again.

Would be interesting to know if they go with a Lars or a traditional operation. Lars (artificial ligament) are meant to be stronger but they are a bit hit or miss for athletes whether they fully take or not. You can come back earlier with a Lars too (6-9 months) than a traditional op (8-12 months).

BTW I am no surgeon so I am only going on what I have heard from professional athletes and their stories from around the clubs here in Australia.
