Thought MF should have brought him off yesterday after he went down for the third time..........
As brave as he was by battling on IMO it was in the best interests of the player if he had been brought off , or the very least looked at by the Doctor because he was staggering around and didn't know where he was for a few minutes......
Also very poor from the ref who looked at him , must have seen the condition he was in but did nothing about it.......
Lets hope he doesn't suffer any lasting effects of what was obviously mild concussion.....The decision of whether he stayed on or was subbed should have been made by the manager , not the player because he is the sort of player who will run through a brick wall for the club and worry about his welfare afterwards...
Re: Mickey Demetriou
2Was thinking similar, but isn't it now down to the doctor whether the player can continue or not? If he told Flynn that he had to come off, he'd have no choice by to sub him.
Re: Mickey Demetriou
5Perhaps Tuesday might be the time to give Foulston a run out. Mickey can have a bit of recovery time before the Carlisle match.

So its normal to stagger around for a few minutes not knowing where you are after having a head knock is it ????
Added to that his previous two head knocks he had earlier then IMO its the best option to play safe and seek professional advice off a professional rather than listen to a player in the heat of battle.....

so after having a bad head knock in your opinion its not obvious he had a problem ( probably a mild concussion ) by the way he way staggering around and not knowing where he was ???
IMO the manager and the ref were at fault for not seeking professional advice from a doctor
Re: Mickey Demetriou
10In his press interview after the match Mickey said that there was no problem and his is eager to play Tuesday
Re: Mickey Demetriou
11I agree,he looked like a boxer who instead of taking a count of 8,got up too early and was unsteady on his feet. Not sure if the management responded to it but I said to my pal that Maybe Mickey should come off as a precaution.
Re: Mickey Demetriou
12If it was "obviously mild concussion" then the rule states he can't play for 14 days so we'll soon see if doctor cork is right or not
Re: Mickey Demetriou
13Interesting points, but wasn't the third elbow to Nicky D head after MF had made the third sub?
Re: Mickey Demetriou
14Was surprised that we didn't get him looked at after the third time he was elbowed mind, especially as he was stumbling around for a minute or two.
Re: Mickey Demetriou
15He did look a bit dazed, can only assume he got a message back to the bench and he soon recovered
