I know what you mean about Governments - but they do have to raise money for my HMRC pension somehow.

Once you have reached the cut-off and know how short we are let me know how much for my share and I'll paypal you.

What I don't get is we did one about five years ago on here and I'm sure we didn't have to pay VAT

Not aware of any major changes in the rules in recent years and I think the club are deemed to be making taxable supplies to the sponsors as we allegedly receive benefits from the club in the form of naming in the programmes, on the website, "free" shirt etc.
Had a look at a few other clubs' websites and they all refer to "plus VAT" in their player sponsorship blurb.

Ironic really - a company sponsoring a player kit will be able to claim the cost as a business expense and also claim the VAT back. We have a supporter whip around and get lumbered with both.
