Put it all in here...
Who should we play?....home or away?... formations to try etc, etc..
I suppose QPR home again is out of the question?

2Pick a local team with a decent pitch to play first game. Everyone gets a half to dust off the cobwebs after pre season training while the club do good support in the community playing a local team.
Then a tour in England somewhere where there is a decent amount of conference south/north, conference, league two and league one club’s.

4Couple of easy local games to get the fitness up, perhaps an Undy like last year. Then a little tour of the South-West, Bath, Gloucester, Chippenham, Truro etc. Keeps it fairly local and lower cost. A decent home tie would be alright, Swansea would be my pick - gives us a chance to watch some of their lads and set up some potential loan deals. If not, Bristol City would be a similar shout.

5Play local teams by all means. Hope they check the playing surfaces out first though. My memory ain't what it used to be but didn't the shop get injured pre season a few years ago at Undy' pitch.

6Think it was Caldicot was at the game a 2-2 draw.pembsexile wrote:Play local teams by all means. Hope they check the playing surfaces out first though. My memory ain't what it used to be but didn't the shop get injured pre season a few years ago at Undy' pitch.
Re: The semi-official PRE SEASON FRIENDLY thread...
7The Shop's injury was nothing to do with the state of the pitch, just an awful accident which could have happened at any ground

8Ok, I stand corrected. I thought someone at the time had mentioned the state of the pitch.ComeOnCounty wrote:The Shop's injury was nothing to do with the state of the pitch, just an awful accident which could have happened at any ground

9They did mate but definitely Caldicot, i was five yards away from him when it happened and not entirely sure you can rule out the pitchpembsexile wrote:Ok, I stand corrected. 10Just remembered we had to move a pre season from Undy to the velodrome a few years back because of an unfit pitch matbe you was thinking of that one
Re: The semi-official PRE SEASON FRIENDLY thread...
11I can see why they want to list try-outs as "triallist no.1" etc on the day, but when everything is done and dusted and the season starts I wish they would disclose who they were.

13From argus:-
The club is currently finalising details on two home matches against Championship clubs, which will be played either at Newport Stadium (Spytty Park) or Rodney Parade. Details for these will be released soon.
