Re: Towser leaves
2Fingers crossed his brother, Bowser will fill the void. That should breath some fire into our midfield.
Re: Ben Tozer leaves
3Anxiety attacks, eh? It’s easy to forget that our “heroes” face struggles like the rest of us mere mortals.
Overall not too bothered by this news. Our choice of midfielders is just so generic that this at least is a chance for MF to mix things up a tad by bringing in someone who might offer something a bit different.

4I agree with you. Our midfield was so one-paced and predictable without Labadie that I actually think this is a positive thing for us.JonD wrote:Anxiety attacks, eh? It’s easy to forget that our “heroes” face struggles like the rest of us mere mortals.

Tozer was a hard worker and obviously was good on his day, but I get the impression his knee issues are still troubling him given his pace around the pitch.
I wouldn't have been unhappy for him to stay, but hopefully this allows us to bring someone in with a bit more athleticism.
Re: Ben Tozer leaves
5There are loads of players of Tozer's standard out there , let's hope Flynny can bring one in. For me the only thing we'll miss of his will be his long throws but even with them we rarely score off the.

In a way it may help us.......... good player that I think he is at our level , his long throw gave MF the easy option of the long throw as our main attacking option. We were becoming so predictable because of it
Re: Ben Tozer leaves
8Sorry to see him go.
Nothing will change just Mickey will take them next season instead.
Cheltenham must have offered a better deal also

Re: Ben Tozer leaves
9Cheltenham fan on their forum saying he is an adequate replacement , if not an upgrade on Harry Pell ????
Do they realise its Tozer they are signing ??
I would have loved us to sign Pell , a cracking player at our level

10Thanks Ben for the graft and for a good season. Hope your anxiety is under control and you are able to quickly recognize and manage any bouts of it. Good luck in the future, just not against us.

Upgrade on Pell? Hahaha.
Re: Ben Tozer leaves
14Tozer was ok at this level but we should be able to get at least as good a midfielder or maybe better from those that will be available in the transfer window, I wouldn't mind betting that Cheltenham score against us via one of his long throws though sods law.
Re: Ben Tozer leaves
15With a small squad I dont think we can accommodate Bennett and Tozer. Bennett a bit better at defending, Tozer a bit better in midfield plus a great throw. With Bennett already on board then I guess Tozer was the guy to go - cant blame him, 2 yr deal at Cheltenham.
Anyway all the best Tozer - Swindon away will last long in the memory.
