Re: Kevin Ward and Newport City Council

A few points to fit into the discussion. The sale agreement by NRFC allows them to play at RP meeting match day staging costs but paying no rent. They are not going to be in a position to pay rent playing at the semi-pro/amateur level in any new arrangement so are unlikely to support such a scheme.

The sale of RP to the WRU was preferred by the board of NRFC partly because of the supposed lack of interest by other individuals but primarily to secure the ground's long term future as a rugby stadium.

Proposals for the cabbage patch are being prepared as a way of securing long term income to support the Dragons probably on the basis of leases but not sale.

Any proposals re selling the ground or County acquiring a percentage stake in the ground will need to be pursued in that context.
