Of course it matters, what kind of image does it create IF we now have a sponsor that doesn't actually function as an entity?

To say it doesn't matter because the money has been paid - if it has - is so naive.
Honestly, I can't imagine many people care, provided they've paid us I couldn't give a monkey's if they cease to exist tomorrow. Apart from anything there are 4 other clubs named on the holding page for the website so it's not even like it's some wacky off the wall decision, a bunch of others have done the same thing. Takes a while to build a brand.

Even if they go pop tomorrow there's zero impact on County's image.

Also, the constant calls for club statements about basically nothing because people have incredibly short attention spans is really starting to get on my nerves. They're the sponsor, there will have been a transaction of some kind for us to publicise them, and there's nothing to be said unless they cease to exist, in which case big deal, we get money from someone else too. West Ham have set the precedent (twice actually) in the past 10 years, with companies who were sponsoring them going bust. Twice. For a Premier League/Championship level side in that time, and I doubt many people remember or care about that either.

ALARMING NEWS !!!

INTERBET -

I am extremely worried about this sponsor (I HOPE I AM WRONG, AND TO CLARIFY, I AM NOT AWARE OF WHAT IS CONSIDERED BEST PRACTICE IN RELATION TO BUSINESS ARRANGEMENTS).

I have just completed some research on the owner of interbet via companies house (see link for your own research).

https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk

Out of the top 4 Leon Daniel HUGHES listed, 3 (based in cardiff/glamorgan) appear to be the same person and have shared the same address at different points of time.

He is listed with the following companies which are either dissolved or not turning over any money:

What I find alarming is that this person has had so many "betting" and "IT" businesses which have dissolved that I think he is simply a chancer with good IT skills

Question: Has the club completed a lateral check on the sponsors and business partners before agreeing a contract to ensure that we know we will get paid? Especially when this is a "new business"

I doubt this person has the collateral to pay us in full and the board should be working immediately to make checks so if required they can secure a new sponsor.

I just hope to god the club have not agreed for someone like this to have any shares as part of or in return for the sponsorship arrangement as any companies dissolved will have all their property, cash and any other assets automatically pass to the Crown.

People can bang on all they like about what does it matter we've got the money BUT....
If that track record below is true then it's more than 'odds on' that we won't have all if any of the money, this looks like one really dodgy character.
Look forward to the club statement on this or the actual betting sight finally becoming live, not forgetting that childrens replica shirts can't have betting company sponsors on it, yes we've been here before too

We will have been paid money up front too.

Do we know this is fact? Be a relief all round if we HAVE been paid up front as you say. Or do you mean just SOME money up front?

We WON'T have been paid up front.
Jeez the guy is obviously a chancer (at best), and for someone who was involved in I.T even that one page is basically dire with a border line running through the St Mirran and Gillingham badges!
Come on ask yourselves if you were setting up a new business, would one of the first things you do is fail to get your 'shop' up and running, but instead throw £60k (just a sensible guess at a number for sponsorship at this level) at having your name on a football shirt.
Come on people wake up. I mean Really????.

Brother David,

I can assure you that all company accounts have been audited by the Nigerian financial authorities.

I can provide you a copy of the most recent report for a small administration fee of $25.

Please provide me your bank account and sort code details in addition to any online bank login details and I shall draft the report straightaway.

Yours gracefully,

Prince Augustus of Lagos.
CEO of Interbet.com.

Perhaps, when they got to the kit supplier's deadline date, the only show in town was this one so they took a 'punt'.

Anyway - where were you guys with all this forensic evidence before any decision was made (let me guess you didn't know that you were needed... because you have nothing to do whatsoever with running our football club) - so now you do (know you are needed) then you guys really do need to get on the Board so the club can benefit from your skillsets - bet you are submitting your applications this very minute. Ps I promise not to have a go at any of you in whatever decisions you make because I always respect that people on the inside the club are 'doers' and not moaners coaching from the sidelines.

Terrible attitude if you really are involved with the club Alan.

A tiny piece of due diligence uncovers the following :-

Interbet did not pay one penny in sponsorship to other clubs rather signed on as betting partners that when the site is launched the clubs will get a percentage of new account turnover that can be attributed to the clubs click thru links on website and advertisements.

None have received a penny to date,

Despite this we jumped into bed with them as a major ....no ....THE major partner , biggest sponsor , most high profile and valuable sponsorship of the year.

Exile wants to say we have been paid . Exile should check that what he is being told is true . Because it isn’t.

Issuing an invoice does not constitute being paid.

Why are our board silent on this ? Because they know they have had their trousers pulled down.

Afternoon all
Yes, we have issued an invoice to Interbet. Yes, it has been paid.
I checked with the management of Chepstow Racecourse prior to the sponsorship being announced as they have worked with the owner of Interbet over a number of years as a race meeting sponsor at Chepstow and other courses. The information I received was that all sponsorships have always been paid promptly.
How a sponsor operates their business is a matter for them.
Hope that helps.

What an attitude to have. Cos y'know what, most of the biggest companies deal with customers' concerns, complaints and feedback in order to keep the person's future custom. It's called customer service. What they do NOT do, is tell people to join the BoD if they think they can do better, or ask them whether they've ever worked for the company or held a seat on the board, or stood for election to the board in the past.
In 2018, are there seriously still people with such a pathetic approach to dealing with customer engagement, feedback & complaints?
So the only ones allowed an opinion are those who are prepared to somehow DO something, above and beyond being a customer?.... dear god alive!

Re: Interbet.com New Main sponsor

Well fair enough I stand corrected, if you say that the accounts will show that we have been paid up in full then I accept that.
Bloody weird way to run a business though, if you are handing over large amounts of money without a 'shop front' to sell yourself to the very people you are hoping to attract on the back of it.
Might just get in touch and ask if he wants to sponsor my business!
