2Looking at that surface, the main reaction has to be relief that no-one turned an ankle. No fault of Chippenham's, but there's been no rain along the M4 corridor in weeks and weeks.
Re: Chippenham T. - Video and Post-Match Interviews
3I see Lincoln City have called off a friendly with the Utd neighbours because of just such an issue.
Re: Chippenham T. - Video and Post-Match Interviews
4I was at the match and the pitch was really poor - looked bone dry and hard, uneven surface and sloping from end to end and in places side to side. Probably a good move by Mike Flynn to substitute most of the first team squad at half time to avoid what appeared to be a real risk of injury.
Great shot by Jack Compton for the goal, although it appeared to go immediately above the keeper and I have a feeling Joe Day would have saved it if he had still been in goal.

5Given that we are in the hunt for another keeper, despite what you said do you feel that the trialist would be up to the job. Was he same trialist as used in the other pre-season games?County Exile wrote:I was at the match and the pitch was really poor - looked bone dry and hard, uneven surface and sloping from end to end and in places side to side. 6MF said the same thing in the Gus,this surprised me as it hardly gives the lad much encouragement. He has had to run outs, what do anyone think, could he be our other keeper?
Re: Chippenham T. - Video and Post-Match Interviews
7Only been to the Chippenham match and, apart from the goal, I don't think he had an awful lot to do. There was one shot fairly late on but I 'm not sure whether he saved it or it hit the post. I was up the other end at the time in the forlorn hope that County might muster a shot or two on target.
Re: Chippenham T. - Video and Post-Match Interviews
8I think Flynny's reaction on the video said it all about the trialist keeper - coupled with the fact that he said he was waiting for a keeper from the Prem/Championships squads at the end of the video - I wouldn't expect a substitute keeper for a couple of weeks...
