He’s good. Hard working with an eye for goal. We have a weak enough attack already with Matt and Marsh-Brown not exactly having set the world alight with their form over the last couple of seasons. I would rather keep him and sell in January, once we’ve got some points on the board, than let him go now and potentially struggle.

He's a class player at this level but he's 30yrs old, only has 1yr left on his contract so £300k would be a good amount of money for us and I don't think Flynny would stop him if he wanted to go.

I’m with you on this one. If we sell him now , we obviously have ambitions to get back to non-league ASAP. It’s too close to start of the season imho. If they really want him then put a bloody zero on the end of that cheque!

Historically, Argyle keep the purse strings very tight. I doubt if they'd pay that much for anyone. By historically, I mean since administration nearly killed the club.

This bid for Amond could well be an unfounded rumour but, if it’s taken at face value, what sell on clause do Hartlepool have in place? That could reduce the viability of any sale.

The actual tweet says that Argyle are interested in Amond and that it's Newport who value him at £300k, doesn't say we've been offered that amount.
However, IF this is true and Amond gets his head turned, don't be surprised if he's sold for a lot less than that.

Trouble is you have to pay them top striker wages as well. We don’t seem to have a great deal of money to spare.
