1912 Exiles Podcast Ep.5: Mansfield Takeaways

Postby Est.1912 » August 4th, 2018, 8:34 am

Evening Exiles,

This weeks episode is a short look back our opener to Mansfield Town and a preview of our first home game against Crewe.

Do you guys prefer shorter episodes? Would you prefer the takeaways from 2 or 3 games at a time or stick to a weekly format?

I enjoyed contributing, so thanks for the invitation. Events have already overtaken my analysis, with the new goalie coming in today...

Seriously, this is the best bit of fan-made content in years. Really well constructed podcast both on your own and both with the added flavour of a guest slot. You both clearly follow the goings on intently enough to give a full-bodied opinion and thoughtful commentary on the squad.

And a face for radio to match (trust me!). Thanks for the kind words on the podcast too.

Good summary of the Mansfield game. Well done Rhys. After Crewe it’s Exeter and Notts County so a tough season start. As always we won’t know how competitive we are until 10 games in. Some fans were moaning about Nouble and McCoulsky but those 21 goals are looking very hard to replace.

I agree that the goals we lost may be hard to replace, Matt doesn't come with a reputation for being prolific but hopefully between him, Semenyo who (looked promising off the bench) and Harris we can go some way to replacing them, I hope KMB and Sheehan in the more advanced midfield role will chip in too.

Another point I forgot to mention in my commentary is that the left winger for Crewe last week looked a strong player so I wonder if Pipey's experience and physicality will be preferred to match up against him?
