Re: Player Loans

I should imagine that the club's approach of cultivating a relationship with Bristol City over an extended period of time is why we're doing as well from the loan market as we are. If you use the loan market as a panic measure to try and plug gaps in your squad by taking untested youngsters from the youth teams of the top flight, paying a hefty slice of wages to boot, you'll get stung.

In contrast, Bristol City presumably trust us to look after their kids and give them game time - and the distance is probably such that they get to train occasionally with their parent club, or can at least be properly monitored - and I'd imagine their academy coaches also work with Flynn's team to identify kids who'd benefit from being at County (and who'd benefit us).

Much happier with that approach than taking a kid from Premiership Club A, another from Championship Club B and another from Foreign Club C, and being stuck with them if they don't make the grade because their parent club want us to subsidise their wages and development.
