Can you spare a few minutes when down watching Newport v Yeovil please?

If you’re between 17-55 come along to Rodney Parade and have a simple mouth swab to join the bone marrow register to potentially save Marley’s life.

Thank you.

Marley has Aplastic Anemia and he needs a bone marrow transplant.

Marley who is 6 years old needs a bone marrow transplant to save his life there is currently no one on the world registry who is a match so if you’re reading this and not on the register, I’m begging you, please join.

How do I join the bone marrow register?

If you’re from the UK you can join here
https://www.dkms.org.uk/en (age 17-55)
https://www.anthonynolan.org/ (16-30)

If you live outside of the UK Join here
http://marrowdrives.org/…/cooperative-b ... -registrie

Do I need to join Anthony Nolan and DKMS?
Nope you only need to join one register they all talk to each other.

Can I join by giving blood?
Of course, they take an extra sample for tissue typing.

Can I join if I have had a blood transfusion?
You can join the bone marrow register if you had a blood transfusion but unfortunately you can’t give blood.

Can I join if I’m pregnant?
Yes definitely as it’s just a cheek swab to join. They will not contact you while you are pregnant or for a certain time postnatally.

Can I donate blood if I’ve had a tattoo?
Yes you can but you have to wait 4 months after your last tattoo

Can I join the bone marrow register if I have had a tattoo?
Yes you can

It doesn’t matter what blood type you are you can still help and join

Things like this make me proud to be a county fan and whilst I am close to the upper age range I will be providing a swab on Saturday and donating to the collection we all have children in our lives be it our own children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends etc so only right we try and help this little lad live his life. I hope the campaign gets record numbers of swabs and a good amount of money is raised. Great to see that Yeovil are embracing this and fully engaged in promoting and supporting it that's why we love the game it doesn't matter who you support as when things get tough football is one big family well done to everyone involved #CTWD
