I've checked the results of the seasons between 1946 and 1951. This is our best start to the 1st 11 games of the season since the 2nd world war. Won 7 Drawn 2 Lost 2.

Wish we had the same crowds as in the early fifties, I lived on Somerton Road during that period and the road was completely full of supporters leaving at the end of the games. Thursday afternoon games (half-day closing) were also well supported. TV a luxury, pubs shut at 3 didn't open till 6. Bingo can't remember whether that was in existence,the good old days, how I hated that expression when my parents used it, now I an using it.
