From what I'm reading about the Newport area, it seems most comments are suggesting the game is on. One even saying "definitely on", so I'll go with that and take my chances......not for me a live stream instead of being there, I'll go on the assumption it's on, and I'll follow my normal matchday routine.

River's highest tide forecast for 10:27, therefore should start ebbing shortly. Only light showers forecast for rest of afternoon with continuing strong winds, therefore not expecting the prettiest of football today.

Here in Cardiff looking southwestrly towards Newport it looks like its brightening up with hint of blue skies.

Yes even brightening up in Pontypool. All my earlier fears have been belayed. Not sure i'll need the suncream or glasses though. Temperate set to reach an incredible 21 degrees nevertheless.

Just arrived in Newport and weather a lot better than when I left Cornwall this morning. Dry and sunny at the moment.

Pitch looks great. A little windy here tho'!
