Would be mad to go their for his career stay at Bristol city as would just stay in youth set up just like Poole. Then say year or two then move. Just my opinion.

I agree,but the money and glamour of being a United player might pull the strings.

Join the trail of young players who can put Manchester United on their CV without ever getting near first team football. A year in the development team then back where he is now, on loan at a league two team and eventually released aged 23.

Together with an attractive wage and signing-on fee.

What kid would turn down the opportunity to join them?

If he was my son I’d carry him to Manchester. He’ll probably be a millionaire before his first loan.
He’ll benefit from the best coaching & testing himself against the best players of his age in the world.

Pretty much guaranteed a football league contract if it doesn't work out by simply having Man United on his CV. Would be mad to turn the opportunity down.

The danger for us is United saying to Bristol City "We're interested, but we'd really like to have him on loan for a few months first."

I wrote a programme profile recently for a visiting player they'd done that with but I can't remember who it was. He spent the second half of a season in their development squad, but United didn't take it any further.

How recently? They did that with Andy Kellett when he was on loan at Plymouth (from Blackburn?), playing regularly and in good form. Six months in United's development squad then no further interest and now at (Oldham/Chesterfield??).
