Definitely a deserved win. 0-1 at half time. Twice coming from behind and getting the winner late on.

What I remember most about that game was seeing two of their stars, Peter Swan and David "Bronco" Layne, who subsequently spent time in prison for match fixing.

Draws against Everton, Southampton and Tottenham not too bad though.
Brilliant. I can't believe that I've attended 6 of the last 8 top flight games over a period of 54 years. Glory hunter?

We scored early, David Gwyther I think, and then held on until the last minute when Adrien Heath scored a soft one. He hit a shot from outside the box and our keeper messed it up. Not sure if it was Mark Kendall or Gary Plumley but the ball bounced over his dive
Kevin Sheedy scored the late goal for Everton. I was there, remember it well, and the replay.

Weren't West Ham in the old division 1 when we beat them 2-1 in the late '70s?
