Thanks for that Jules. I remember as a teenager watching Shamrock Rovers play I think St David’s on a Sunday back in late 50s or early 60s . In those days Welsh Sunday’s were fairly drab affairs especially if you were religious. I thoroughly enjoyed the Irish concept of Sunday observance which was an early mass then off for a drink and then the football. My grandfather was from Cork so I adopted his country’s culture for the day, even the mass was more entertaining than a Baptist Chapel service!
