Sort of blows the argument of not having any money to invest in the City.
Could have bought RP for half the price and secured the future of professional sport in the City and probalbly earned more rent.
Their accounts are publically available. There are hundreds of millions of liquid reserves, a small proportion of which could surely easily be exchanged for bricks and mortar, and the return made better for them.

The argument they can't afford it is not a valid one. Obviously we should have to chip in as well, but there is without question a moral duty to do something to help.
You are both correct. However it is important that the club and supporters lobby the Council. When it was clear that Newport Rugby Club were being shafted, and if we think we've had some rough deals down the years so have they, we as a club, the rugby and our city community should have come together.

We didn't. The best time was then but as always the second best time is now.

Is it any wonder that Newport CITY council are pushed for cash when they allow a crowd of lunatics to design the roundabouts at Forge Lane ,Tredegar Park and Bassaleg but I guess, that they help to increase the beauty of our city and , who knows it may be a good place for Pod dwellers to camp out in the summer and sunbathe and enjoy the lights---- a bit like Blackpool promenade !!!! .
