So after all the wonderful distraction and financial rewards of the FA Cup run, can we make the play-offs?
I think it's a tough ask but very possible. We have a damn good side and I think our league form suffered due to the cup run.
Perhaps the most difficult game will be away at Notts County on Tuesday being so close to the physical and mental rigours of the Man City game.
What are people's thoughts?
Re: Play-offs
3Yes - anything is possible if we have the belief and are lucky to steer clear of injuries.
Re: Play-offs
6Not that we are in any real danger of going down I’m a tad concerned about how we will react from our cup exploits. Really need to kick on with a few victories to cement mid table. Tuesday will be no picnic.
Re: Play-offs
8Out of our next 6 games , 4 wins and a 1 draw minimum needed to get involved in the play offsUPTHEPORT wrote:If we are to make play offs we need a run like when Flynny took over
Re: Play-offs
9A hangover from the cup run is inevitable in my view. 2 tough away games this week so can see us being empty handed in both. Would like to see the newbies, Forbes, Neufville etc get game time this week plus regulars get a rest.
Then give it a good go from March onwards when we pretty much revert to 1 game per week. Play offs are unlikely but there is a chance with a bit of luck with injuries etc. We are not going down so it’s time to adopt a s@@t or bust approach and just go for it.
Last 6 seasons 69, 70, 71, 71, 75 and 75 pts have been enough for 7th place, so we need to be averaging almost 2 pts per game from now on.

10Hard game Tom notts playing like we did for the great escape. Can't see us getting much tom to be honest, hope I'm proved wrong
Re: Play-offs
11Tremendous win tonight at Notts County.
I guess a small series of "cup finals" ahead of us now but our team ( players, management and supporters ) are all on board and we can do this.
Up the County!

Re: Play-offs
13Some of our football in the first hour was in my view good enough to give us real hope.
Re: Play-offs
14Remember when those Notts County fans were celebrating when Hartlepool took the lead? Lucky for them they'll be going there next season.
