Arguably the best Euro-result from a WPL/LOW club. Streamed the first game - they stuck to their game plan and were very resilient only to be undone at the end so expected them to lose last night. So a great achievement with the odds stacked against them.

More to the point Bangor lost the tie in a third game in the days before aggregate scores/away goals, so it didn't count for much. Kind of like Barry beating Porto when they were already 7 goals behind, but without the thrashing (no offence gaffer ).

Beating Napoli 2-0 "didnt count for much" it was still a result.

The Napoli games were in 1962 when I think Bangor were members of the Welsh League (North). They became founder members of the Northern Premier League in 1968 and became fairly well known as an English pyramid club. They were even considered for membership of the Football League to replace Southport, but lost out to Wigan Athletic.
