There is a theory that a group has a wisdom an individual lacks.
Experiments have shown that in the game where you invite people to guess how many of jelly beans in a jar, that averaging out everyone's guess gets very close to the right answer. At the moment with the caveat that we have a low sample group and probably one somewhat biased it's 7th or 8th,

17I would also lean towards 5th or 6th. But staying up is good enough for me (and considering our budget).
Yes age and over performance may catch up with us.
I really think the Cup distraction (though very enjoyable for fans) is a limit on our results. I reckon we'd have placed higher last year were it not for said cup games. We were up there with Chelsea and City for most number of fixtures all year.
Plus I'm optimistic that at least one or two new signings will turn out good. We've only lost 2 regulars so by that logic our squad is not significantly worse than last year, hoping there is not too much ageing and deterioration.

Re: The annual where will we finish thread
20A surprise early FA Cup exit to some non-league tinpotters like Wrexham will focus our league form. Predict 3rd in the league. Squad, on paper, would seem on a par with last season’s, so couple of strong loans to come in and I can see a successful season.
Re: The annual where will we finish thread
21I'll go 7th. I think this squad should make the playoffs and has the potential to do more, provided we can keep flynny&co
Out in R2 of both cups
Checkatrade is wank

Re: The annual where will we finish thread
247th with a cup run but 13th without a cup run. The lack of money to spend in January without a cup run could hamper where we finish at the end of the season also without a cup run we may have to cash in on one of our better players.
Re: The annual where will we finish thread
27Tough league this year with a lot of money being spent which we can't compete with. 10th.
Re: The annual where will we finish thread
283rd place and 4th round in the FA Cup.
3rd round in the League cup.

30I feel Div2 will be a lot tougher this season, with some strong and financially stronger teams dropping down and getting promoted to this division. Last season gave us the best chance for promotion because it was full of weaker sides.
Hate to be a pessimist but the law of averages is bound to kick in and we'll lose a couple of key players to injury. I'm going for -
14th place in the league.
Out of both main cups in the first round, including being beaten by a non-league side in the FA Cup.
Reach the semi-final of the Checks trade Trophy.
