Mansfield seem to set a lot of store by Hamilton attacking on the right, so I'm guessing we wanted our most experienced left back to block that channel although Hamilton only lasted until half-time.

The opening post in this thread is one of the most ridiculous I have ever read here, and that's saying something.

Appreciate he has plenty of time on his side though.
Time will tell.
Hope he proves me wrong.
Anyone know what the unedited comment was because this one's pathetic enough

Let me try to explain something GSB
These thoughts are not mine okay.
Fact the club management have been concerned about Ryans track record concerning injuries.
Its what you call niggles.
If you noticed and correct me if I am wrong he did not appear in any friendlies and was originally down as unfit for Saturday.
Great news he played a blinder in the first half and I am sure management will be thrilled of course.
Just passing on what has been said so don't shoot the messenger ok.
I hope that he has a great season and stays fit throughout.
I wish him all the best.

I hardly know where to start.

Truly pathetic to try to pass off your nonsense as some kind of inside track from "the management". "Just passing on what has been said" is the curse of this forum and plenty of others.

Of course every player's track record with injuries is taken into account in terms of who will need to be nursed a bit more than some others. One of the great things about Dean Holdsworth was that he got the maximum game time out of Craig Reid and Charlie Henry despite them both having regular hamstring trouble.

No, he didn't look as good in the second half - but nor did anyone else.

We did come a cropper with Crofts, but we didn't pay a fee for him as we did for Haynes and we only gave him a one-year deal.

Final say on this one from myself.
As far as I know there are no gagging orders in place on anybody at the club.
Everybody socialises and conversations take place.
About a year ago I was told in a conversation that we were hoping to sign a forward from Hartlepools but his name could not be disclosed for obvious reasons.
The bigger surprise was that we were paying quite a large, for us fee to get him.
I assumed incorrectly that we were going for Devante Rodney and quite a lot of pm's were received asking who it was.
I got slammed on here by the usual suspects as talking rubbish.
A month later the deal for Padraig was done.
Its no secret that powers to be were concerned about Ryans fitness.
Anyway for the final time I wish him well and hope he stays fit.
There no point having a pop at me for stating facts as its water off a ducks back.

As in 'Unless someone at the club is lying through their teeth...........'

For once I agree George 'Just passing on what has been said' is truly the curse of this forum and plenty of others'.

Matthew Chapter 7 verses 3 to 5 might assist.

I thought it was Harps that told us that?

I find it strange that 'the management' are apparently openly discussing their worries about the fitness of a player that THEY signed, for a fee, on a two year deal.
If Haynes does end up like a Crofts (after all he's only played one game so far so who's to say he won't get many injuries this season) then the ones that are telling people their concerns are those responsible for wasting a lot of money we can ill afford to pay.

Fantastic debut by him though. Looks a great player.

I'm amazed that "management" are "concerned" at the "fitness" of a player they literally just signed, presumably after lengthy scouting and pre-signing fitness testing. Especially given that they've had all of a month, maybe, since he signed to go on.

Maybe County have been lucky that Nurse looked so good in pre-season, nothing cures like losing a starting place.
