No it was there for years. Long after that particular brand of ale was no longer on general sale. As indeed was the painted sign on the grandstand 'South Wales Argus, best for all sport'. Not to mention the billboards at the railway end. Other fond memories were the rotting railway sleepers on the popular bank and the gates at the Cromwell end being thrown open half an hour before the game finished.
