Grandstand - Macclesfield away

1
Tuesday 17th September 2019.
County will be seeking to put Saturdays dismal display at Northampton to bed as they take on The Silkmen at Moss Rose. Inniss and Matt will both be unavailable due to bans. Macclesfield have ex County Midfielder Emmanuel Osadebe among their squad. Apart from three points, a piece of Silverware is at stake https://www.mtfc.co.uk/news/2019/septem ... red-derby/ .

Meetings between the two clubs:
Conference Premier:
2012 / 2013:
Macclesfield 1-1 Newport County:
A goal shortly before the break from Tony James gave County a half time advantage.
Striker Matthew Barnes-Homer equalized for the Silkmen with around ten minutes remaining.

Newport County 4-1 Macclesfield:
This re-arranged meeting was played on a very wet Thursday evening.
Macclesfield took the lead in the first five minutes before County were ahead 3-1 at the break with goals from Jolley, a penalty from Sandell and a third from Willmott.
Willmott got his second of the game midway through the second half and the ref blew for full time moments into injury time as a heavy shower teemed down.

League Two:
2018 / 2019:
Newport County 3-3 Macclesfield:
Macclesfield, who were bottom before this game with just three points from ten games, were two up within eleven minutes. Butler got one back on the half hour mark before Demetriou leveled the score near the hour from the penalty spot. Macclesfield went in front again with their second penalty of the game with less than ten minutes on the clock. Defeat appeared on the cards until Matt equalized deep into injury time. Ten players were booked by referee Trevor Kettle who is possibly the worst performing referee i've witnessed at Rodney Parade in a game involving County.

Macclesfield 0-0 Newport County:A poor result for County. They were now in 11th position, two points behind seventh placed Exeter but three clubs above them via goal difference.
A very valuable point for Macclesfield in their quest to avoid the drop, now two points clear of relegation with two to play..

Managers:

Macclesfield - Daryl McMahon
Newport County - Mike Flynn.

I wonder whether it will be "The Cup with no name" Cup ?
I think it should be called Fuc Cup
