That was a really good result. I think so too.UPTHEPORT wrote:I know its early yet mate but I genuinely believe we are contenders for top 3newgroundrodney wrote:I'll tell you what's great Jim, is we're taking points off all the right teams. Re: Grandstand - Swindon Town away
65Excellent performance and result. We totally dominated first half with them relying on counter attacks. We seemed to sit back and let them come at us for a spell during second but still in control. Ryan Haynes broke down one attack, ran full length of pitch and threaded ball through to Abrahams, who put ball in net but was just offside. Great work by Podge for Jamma's goal.
Re: Grandstand - Swindon Town away
66If my quick maths is correct, we've played 4 of the current top 5 teams, collecting 10 pts from a possible 12.
They may be vital at the run-in.

68That's good to hear Rob. So much for the BBC stats eh?County Exile wrote:Excellent performance and result. We totally dominated first half with them relying on counter attacks. 70Far more interesting for me is the amount of time spent in the opposition third of the field.pembsexile wrote:That's good to hear Rob. Re: Grandstand - Swindon Town away
71It is where you have the possession - not for the first time this season I felt we controlled the game throughout, we allow possession in non threatening areas but apart from one first half chance and a 10 minute period just after the hour mark Swindon did not really threaten. A very professional County performance throughout the team.pembsexile wrote:That is an absolutely superb three points. I wasn't at the game and didn't get to listen. However, the stats cannot tell the whole story. According to the BBC, we had 33% possession but had 11 shots to their 7, and 9 corners to their 3. We must be doing something right!! C'mon the County.
Re: Grandstand - Swindon Town away
72Only disappointment was Abraham not holding his run and getting caught offside.Poor error which could have cost us.

73Swinetown 0 - County 2. Snigger.
As someone who grew up in neighbouring Oxford that has made my day.

74Couldn't make it today due to work . From what I've heard from people who did go , that was our best performance of the season so far ?
They've also said that the "650" away crowd statement is well below the "1,000" that were there ?
Also heard about the shambles of not being able to go back to the coaches after the game , resulting in hundreds being escorted on foot back to the train station ??
This was after a lot of travelling fans missing the first 10 minutes due to not being allowed to park coaches up near the away end ??
Swindon really does seem to be one of the worst organised away grounds to visit .
Must be all those shitty roundabouts !
And I bet their fans sang "God Save the German Lady" as well as "Eng-er-Land" a few times ???
Anyway .. fantastic result and performance from all accounts .
