I do. I remember pointing this out. But very few listened.whoareya wrote:
And remember all the drainage experts who said it was all down to being too close to the Usk.......I can only assume that the WRU diverted the river when they installed the new pitch.........

17That’s my opinion too. The game will be off IFOLDCROMWELLIAN wrote:I believe I read somewhere that some diversion of the drainage system outside of the ground has been carried out.whoareya wrote:And remember all the drainage experts who said it was all down to being too close to the Usk.......I can only assume that the WRU diverted the river when they installed the new pitch.........Corpaboy wrote:And we play Carlsile ??? Isn't it good though , that we can feel confident that our home game on Saturday will be on , despite the torrential rain we've had ???
(I've typed that with a bitten tongue and heart in my mouth that I'm right)
Don't profess to be an expert in such matters, but if rainwater was drained directly into the river below the high tide line, then obviously at high tide such drainage would be slowed. However no matter what drainage system is in place if the rate of rain downfall is greater than the rate of drainage then flooding will incur no matter where the river is, won't it?
Guess we will only find out come Saturday
a) The rate of precipitation exceeds the rate of drainage, or
bj We want it off
Re: Model pitch
18Better not be off mate. First game of the season for me. Bloody rain. Divert the Usk by Saturday I say. That'll sort it.
Re: Model pitch
19I hope so too mate, momentum and all that! I wonder if there’ll be a need for an early pitch inspection? Doubt it as I expect our visitors will travel Friday anyway I should think.pembsexile wrote:Better not be off mate. First game of the season for me. Bloody rain. Divert the Usk by Saturday I say. 20Yeh, need to keep the momentum going. Hope there is no need for a pitch inspection. It'll be too late for me anyway - I'm travelling to the 'Port tomorrow.lowandhard wrote:I hope so too mate, momentum and all that! I wonder if there’ll be a need for an early pitch inspection?
