So what? Half the Premier League sides aren't even picking their first choice age-limited reserve sides.

The competition was fine the way it was, without the need of the Premier League to try and shoehorn their reserves into the EFL in whichever way they could get away with. It's only a matter of time before one of the reserve sides win it and finally kills the competition off for good.

A few players are in an age-group limbo, too old for the Paintpot which doesn't seem to have an equivalent league competition but able to play in Premier League 2.

U21s in the Leasing.com and U23 in the PL reserve league, and I agree it didn't need to be changed.
