Complete madness to think of holding it in Qatar in summer. I changed planes there while the 2010 World Cup was on and we had to wait on the tarmac for a few minutes to be bussed to the terminal. It was absolutely scorching - at eight in the morning.

8 of the stadiums will have (hopefully on completion) open air - air conditioning (I dont understand it either!)

We'll be in the Championship by then.

Bit of a shame the lower leagues will be carrying on for me, seeing as I'm planning on going - with the locations all within a hundred miles or so, and the potential there won't be much local interest, it should be one of the best opportunities to take in as many games as possible at a World Cup - I'll be trying to beat the 8 games I went to in 1998.
