After 17 games last year we had 39 points, after 17 games this year we've got 37 points. I don't think last season we realised statistaclly compared to similar clubs who've achieved promotion IE Accrington and Wycombe how on target we are.

The small margin this season is to realise that.

As most on here have been saying our performances have been well below promotion form and now I feel if WE do not beat Stevenage and Morecambe or at least gain 4 pts from both games County will become embroiled in a relegation battle. This might sound pessimistic but when a team relies so much on their defence not conceding a goal knowing that one let alone two goals are too much to claw back the pressure on the players magnifies.
Scoring not just from the strikers but the midfield has been woeful it is a mix of a few reasons players not good enough, tactics shocking that do not suit our players strengths and emphasise their weaknesses,
On the training ground it seems to me that our pressing, passing and movement game is not being practised and specialised. The direct football ie. hoof ball is an option ( plan B) when the passing game is not working but using it all the time is an accident not waiting but happening.
Flynn has too take the blame and play a style of football that meets the players needs and creates goal scoring chances. At the moment the players are becoming a shambolic team that Stevenage and Morecambe will be looking forward to because they know if they score more than one goal 3pts is more likely than not the outcome.
The January window cannot come fast enough because take the goalkeepers, defence and Sheehan in midfield and Amond out of the equation then every other player is dispensable.
Two massive winnable games coming up which could define our season and the futures of players and maybe staff.

I don't think that we will be in a relegation struggle this season. In part because of our start we would have to completely implode. But mainly I don't think anyone will be involved in one thanks to Bury and Macclesfield.

Cannot argue with any of that.

Labadie, Bennett and Demetriou being fit, or not, will have a huge influence.

Labs and Bennett have been very much hit and miss this year, more miss unfortunately.
Very difficult to expect Mickey to come out of the starting blocks flying also.
A long time ago Howard Goddard broke his leg, the fella was superb before but was not half the player on his return.
Lets all hope Mickey finally comes back to his high standard.

Labadie and Bennett or Maloney and Nurse? I'd go for the former as in my view we missed both hugely at Bradford.

No comparison to be fair albeit I like Nurse attacking out wide left.
Saying that Labs and Scott are not the answer or Dolan.
We have one quality midfielder in Josh plus 2 hit and miss players Joss & Scott.
Should of tried Dom in midfield rather than Maloney or Dolan

Unfortunately playing as a wing back Nurse did very little attacking at Bradford, mind you, neither did McNamara.

In boxing terms we've got 28 fights left and boxers think they can win every fight accepting they might lose a few.

The boxing mentality of the whole gym when a fight is coming up is to be positive stay close knit, back your teammate but most importantly be there if they lose pick them up and go again for the next fight.

We've won more fights than we've lost and nobody is knocking us out we're losing on small margin split decisions.

I'd love automatic but let's put a bit of perspective here and if we're disappointed to only be involved in the playoff hunt then that's a massive statement of how far we've come.

For me it's still a win ugly league. It feels like we're a bit down at the moment a win or a draw will sort that out. One thing I do know is if this team gets on a roll we'll take some stopping. We've done it before we can do it again.

I think we should forget about promotion this season. Baring a catastrophic collapse we aren’t going down so concentrate on the cups and blood a couple of youngsters second part of the season and encourage the supporters to get behind them.
