34The problem with offside and VAR is that the decision has to be binary. It's either offside or its not. If the ref is allowed to use discretion then it opens the officials up to all sorts of accusations.
Such a shame it's not used to eradicate all the pushing pulling and holding we see all the time, the blatant gamesmanship, obstruction etc. People might be more accepting of VAR if they could see it was improving the game.
