Never seen a player continually brought on every game for the last few minutes.
It still counts on Wiki as an appearance.
Think quite a few with County were similar.
Can only remeber 1/2 starts for the Shrews sure there were more though
Just use Soccerbase then: https://www.soccerbase.com/players/play ... r_id=45353

5 starts and 48 subs in the League for Shrewsbury (League One) - pretty remarkable.
10 starts and 12 subs in other competitions. 5 goals (3 in the League).

Virtually all those sub appearances 48 were for a few minutes.
Why he never got fed up putting his kit on.
That must take some beating.
That's in nearly two and a half seasons.
Also likewise at Bury before 64 subs

171 starts and 159 subs (nuts)

Agreed, and yet some of our "fans" were actually mouthing off that he went down too easily for the pen.

Reading between the lines, he was one of those written off by Westley. He was expected to return by March 2017 but then it was said he wouldn't play again that season. Unsurprisingly if that is the case, he snapped at an offer from Shrewsbury. Then Westley left and he returned to favour. He was well fit by the Notts County game.

It sounds like Shrewsbury's handling of him was quite smart given his injury record, and he got to come on in a League 1 play off final for them.

By all accounts he was an asset in the dressing room, not least in calming down JMW I guess.

I'm biased on this because I walked back to Cambridge station with his supportive stepdad when he first did his hamstring. A great guy in his own right and a keen golfer.

Just saying like, and not a plug for him to return.

With the right coaching / manager there is a decent player at our level in there
Nothing to do with the right coaching/manager.
The player was constantly injured.

Hence my first line.
Playing 'hoofball' would be no good for him as IMO he isnt the type of player that would be any good playing that way. He needs 'service' where the wide men get crosses into the box for him to attack , the same as Matt who isnt getting many goals this season because of the lack of decent chances being offered to him because the ball isnt going widethis season, hence the coaching / manager / tactics comment
