Seen their plans to turn the Racecourse into a 15,000 all seater stadium take a step closer to reality
I thought Glyndwr University were the owners of that ground ?
how much is that going to cost the tax payer for them to have a super duper stadium to play in the National League ???

Not as much as you'd think. It's a fourway investment that takes funds already ringfenced so no additional taxpayer commitment beyons that already set aside. It gets local gov AND Welsh Assembly funding as it fulfills criteria for wider social benefit than just the football team, so will include modernisation of Wrexham's rail connections and station (if you know the town you know this has been stalled for over ten years until this new investment) refurbishment of nearby streets and road facilities, and creation of a new commercial area that will provide (albeit a lower number than previously projected) crucial jobs.
On top of that there is proposed to be a UEFA delegation in 2021 to establish whether they can assist with low-level funding (spectator facilities) as the Racecourse is the worlds oldest international football venue. They are in continuous discussion with Wrexham on this for a while, and the new investment will speed that up.
Good eh?.......nothing to complain about at all, something to celebrate.

Why cant we , the council , the welsh government etc come up with the same plan to help us build a ground ???

Do they need a 15000 capacity ground playing in non league ???
they have been non league for 12 years now. Why do they think a super duper new improved stadium is going to make them better ?
