Football! £50 million relief package

Postby NearlyDead » March 18th, 2020, 8:19 pm

This news now on all main news outlets.

Not as generous as it sounds, since some of it is the basic award money now rather than at end of season (or whenever) and the rest is for interest-free loans, which though welcome will add to debt.

I'm guessing they are thinking they can play the outstanding games still at some point and recoup the money for the loans given.

Just on the Macclesfield forum and says all league 2 clubs will get 164 grand and can apply for a further 120 grand interest free loan. That's pretty good well done all.

This shouldn't be a free pass for Macclesfield. There should be some way for their players to claim their wage arrears directly from the EFL before the club gets its hands on any bonus payment.
