68Notwithstanding it was the news I expected his passing still comes as a shock. We all die, but Gary lived. He was a kind man who will be much missed.

It's a weird phenomenon to lose someone I've never met. Yet I'm sitting in my garden with beer in hand telling my wife how sad I am about losing a friend I never met. Ridiculous, somehow. But the grief is real.
