Re: END OF 2019-20 SEASON: NEWPORT COUNTY AFC CLUB UPDATE ST

Thought they would have to so league gets balanced out again but is all dependent on LG 2 relegationexcessbee wrote:I wonder if they might offer two promotion places to the National League. If so, that would see one team relegated. Stevenage's best chance would seem to be HMRC calling in their debt from Macclesfield. Back in court very soon I believe.
Me neither. Tee hee, snigger, snigger.Stow Hill Sid wrote:Tranmere. I promise I'm not still bitter.Exile 1976 wrote:League 1 also cancelled, so welcome Bolton, Tranmere & Southend
Agreed, but then we'll presumably need another round of appeals. Macclesfield don't appear to be viable as a L2 club. Others might soon be in the same situation, but they got there first. This! *Thumbsupemoji*excessbee wrote:I think if Macclesfield survive, we will all be subjected to another season of their owner's cavalier attitude to his responsibilities. At least Stevenage completed all their fixtures on schedule and their players received wages on time.
Perhaps they will deduct 6 points in an attempt to stop any argument.faerun exile wrote:Because of the way the EFL has calculated the PPG it looks certain to me that Macc will be docked a further 3 points for the latest non-payment of wages charge. Will be enough to send them down instead of Stevenage. An unfair system as surely any points docked should be applied after the PPG calculation - if that were the case then 6 further points would need to be docked to finish bottom of the league. Can see where the EFL are coming from as Stevenage more likely to survive next season than Macc but EFL do seem to make it up as they go along.
