As Barrow have now been confirmed into League 2, I thought it would be a good idea to show the highlights of a victory at Holker Street in our Conference days - video on Club Youtube site....

2What a team that was - created more chances in one game than I've seen for a long time...

3And what a long journey too. That was before Carlisle was on the fixture list. The season before (maybe two seasons earlier) we had a massive delay on the M6. Great relief on the coach to hear that half the Barrow team, maybe the referee also, were behind us in the traffic. Think the game started an hour late. Probably no better than a 50/50 chance of making a return trip next season.

4Actually the above game was the delayed kickoff.
Great to see the highlights, though I struggled to identify a few players.

5Another thing I was wrong about.
We actually have scored a goal from a long throw.

6At that time (and maybe still) Barrow's core squad was drawn from the Manchester area and only travelled up for games. I think they had a training base in Rochdale.
Re: Classic County - Barrow away 15/09/2012
7That's innovative. A quick google suggests they still train in the Rochdale area.
I wonder where their junior teams train (assuming they have any)? It'd be a bit of a drag for any Barrow schoolboys if they're obliged to trek down to Greater Manchester.
