I don't think returning to Spytty would be a good idea, but it might even be that a relocation would suit the athletics. I've read - can't remember where - that the prevailing wind means it's hard to set records there.

A new athletics track is being laid there at the moment so I'd say any talk of the Harriers relocating is fanciful at best.

I think that is good news. The general consensus, and one with which I agree, is that with an athletics track Spytty can't accommodate League football. By laying a new track I think that puts Spytty as a venue to rest.

My recollection of council involvement was of largely helping the club, it only became an issue when the club was already doomed. They also created Spytty Stadium which facilitated our return home.


A lot of the stadium developments of current times have been reliant on council partnering by way of land purchase, land swaps or joint ventures.

I had a really good chat with Gavin yesterday and will update everyone at the next meeting. For those who cannot attend, myself and one other have been invited to a Zoom meeting with Gavin and Peter Madigan to have a discussion. Very positive news.

Dear Sirs , i have only just logged in and after reading of the Cardiff Blues probable playing some of their games as OTHER users of Rodney Parade it seems to me that Newport County are being treated a no count importance of the pitch and slowly but surely pushed out of Rodney Parade and County's future certainly looks shaky, I hope I,m wrong but..................
