Both players have left but not been replaced with the same quality,
We need to bring in another experienced centre half or we are going to be very thin at the back, particularly if we pick up injuries or suspensions .
The St.Albans guy Longe - King looks like a replacement for Ekpiteta, so MF needs to act soon or we are in for a long season.
Re: Inness and OBrien not replaced yet.
2OB definitely but Inness was a shower of shite, I think Longe-King is a good enough replacement for him.
Re: Inness and OBrien not replaced yet.
3Demetriou and Howkins are a good first-choice pair, and we've got Longe-King and Woodiwiss as backup. I'd agree that an extra body would be nice, but a) would anyone want to come to be fourth / fifth choice, and b) can we justify a wage for a fourth / fifth choice?
EDIT: forgot to mention Bennett - who can obviously supplement Demetriou and Howkins if we're playing a three, although personally I like him just in front of the defence.

4But we have lost three centre halves and only recruited Longe-King.
Also we often play three centre backs.

Re: Inness and OBrien not replaced yet.
5Didn't really lose Ekpiteta as he never played a single League game and only two two-bob Cup games, where we conceded 7 goals, before he was shipped out

6What happens if one picks up a long term injury and the window is shut
Re: Inness and OBrien not replaced yet.
7Then someone else needs to step up. Salary cap and squad size limit will mean all clubs in EFL will pretty much be in the same boat.DPT wrote:What happens if one picks up a long term injury and the window is shut

8MF indicate he’s wants to bring in a few more. Hopefully another cab and central midfielder.
Re: Inness and OBrien not replaced yet.
10We could probably replace Inniss with Inniss since he is still kicking around at Palace, but I wouldn't recommend it. I thought he was a liability rather than an asset. Much prefer Howkins.
Re: Inness and OBrien not replaced yet.
11Would Inniss still have to serve the ban for his red card at Carlisle in our last game before lockdown? Which I suppose would be Palace's first three first-team games. Or did everyone start the season with the slate wiped clean, which I hope is what happened.
Re: Inness and OBrien not replaced yet.
12Bans are carried over to this season so he’s suspended. Not that I’d imagine he’s anywhere near consideration for Palace at the moment.George Street-Bridge wrote:Would Inniss still have to serve the ban for his red card at Carlisle in our last game before lockdown? Re: Inness and OBrien not replaced yet.
13Seems a shame they are carrying bans over given the extraordinary circumstances in which the season ended.
Re: Inness and OBrien not replaced yet.
14Yes, the games were not played, but points were awarded, and all suspended players would have served their bans and resumed playing.
