Re: Today's Press Meeting
2More than worrying that Flynn is indicating that Cardiff Blues are here to stay, at least in the short term.
Re: Today's Press Meeting
3Agreed. has already been mentioned by another poster, but can't understand why they couldn't have been offered the Dragons facility at Ystrad Mynach, whilst games are behind closed doors. Afterall it's an artificial pitch like their own.Taunton Iron Cider wrote:More than worrying that Flynn is indicating that Cardiff Blues are here to stay, at least in the short term.

If the Dragons train on there day to day then why dont they move their games there too whilst they have to play behind closed doors as they will be used to the surroundings etc and surely that would give them an advantage too ???
Re: Today's Press Meeting
5Suspect they believe that the RP pitch suits them better, especially when it is cut up and wet.neilcork68 wrote:OLDCROMWELLIAN wrote:Agreed. has already been mentioned by another poster, but can't understand why they couldn't have been offered the Dragons facility at Ystrad Mynach, whilst games are behind closed doors. 8Not only that, there are at least two rugby grounds that I'm aware of within the Cardiff Blues' own "region" – Pontypridd and Merthyr – with artificial pitches. Granted they're not top class stadiums (though they can't be that far off the Arms Park), but it doesn't really matter if it's behind closed doors, surely.OLDCROMWELLIAN wrote:Agreed. has already been mentioned by another poster, but can't understand why they couldn't have been offered the Dragons facility at Ystrad Mynach, whilst games are behind closed doors. Re: Today's Press Meeting
10With the news that Caerphilly Borough is going into lockdown, no-one in or out without good reason, does that mean Dragons will not have access to their training base for the duration? I understand that the protective covering over the Arms Park pitch has been removed.
Re: Today's Press Meeting
11I guess part of the problem might be the need for facilities surrounding the pitch which might not be in place at some of those grounds. (not that I expect the Rodney Parade facilities like changing rooms etc are particularly luxurious)halfmoon wrote:Not only that, there are at least two rugby grounds that I'm aware of within the Cardiff Blues' own "region" – Pontypridd and Merthyr – with artificial pitches. Re: Today's Press Meeting
12Hoping we don't have any players in the Caerphilly area. If so I hope there is a way around that one.

13You're allowed to travel to work if you're unable to work from home so it wouldn't be an issue.Collars wrote:Hoping we don't have any players in the Caerphilly area. If so I hope there is a way around that one.
Re: Today's Press Meeting
14No issue for players no, but presumably if the lockdown is still in place when spectators are allowed back into grounds, it would prevent those from a lockdown area travelling to Newport or Cardiff.Jonesy3 wrote:You're allowed to travel to work if you're unable to work from home so it wouldn't be an issue.Collars wrote:Hoping we don't have any players in the Caerphilly area.
