Saturday 7th November.
FA Cup R1.
Leyton Orient v Newport County.

Since 2013, County have been drawn away in Round One of the FA Cup on seven occasions from eight, this season being the eighth. The only exception being 2017 / 2018 when County faced Walsall at Rodney Parade. Of the six away Round One games to have taken place thus far, County's record is:
1. Won one, 2-0 against Met Police.
2. Lost one, 4-2 against Luton Town.
3. Drawn four, won all four in replays at Rodney Parade.

Meetings between both clubs since County regained Football League status:

2015 / 2016:
Newport County 2-3 Leyton Orient.
Leyton Orient came to Rodney Parade with maximum points from three league matches and a +7 goal difference. County, with new manager Terry Butcher, had one point from three league games.
Trailing 2-0 after seven minutes with goals coming from Paul McCallum and Jay Simpson, County hit back with two goals late on in the first half from Scott Boden and Mark Byrne.
Orient regained the lead on fifty nine minutes from Dean Cox and held on to that lead. A somewhat unfortunate defeat for County after matching Orient over the ninety minutes.

Leyton Orient 1-0 Newport County.
This was Warren Feeney's third game in charge after the sacking of Terry Butcher. The games only goal was a late penalty, conceded by Darren Jones, scored by Orients leading scorer Jay Simpson. Making his debut for Orient was player manager Kevin Nolan who came off the bench with around twelve minutes remaining. Orient were just within the play-offs after twenty eight games while County were four points clear of the drop after twenty seven games.

2016 / 2017:
Leyton Orient 0-1 Newport County.
In what was only the second league game of the season for both clubs, the games only goal came from Jamie Turley around thirty four minutes, his first goal for County. This was the first time County had won a league game at Orient since 1982, some thirty four years.

Newport County 0-4 Leyton Orient.
With County having thirteen to play and Orient twelve, this was a six pointer between the bottom two in the table. County were eleven points within the drop zone with Orient being eight points from avoiding the drop. Despite fielding a side virtually of youth, Orient won comfortably, Josh Koromo scoring a hatrick.  After just five months in charge and on his 49th birthday, this defeat saw the sacking of Graham Westley, to the relief of County supporters.

2019 / 2020:
Newport County 1-1 Leyton Orient.
An emotional afternoon at Rodney Parade with both clubs remembering Justin Edinburgh who passed away six months earlier. He managed both County and Orient from the fifth tier to regain football league status. As for this game, Orient were ahead within two minutes from Ruel Sotiriou. Padraig Amond leveled late on for County with around ten minutes remaining. Both teams were currently on poor form. Including this game, County had now gained only three points from their latest nine games while Orient had gained seven points from their latest ten league games.

Leyton Orient 2-1 Newport County.

Can I be pedantic and tell you its TIM O'Shea not TOM..........
A fantastic player who for the life of me I cant understand why he never played all his career at the higher level.....He was very similar to Ben White as a player, not the biggest centre half , had pace and read the game very well
