Re: FA Cup R2
18I think that was only the case in the qualifying rounds because the rounds were so closely scheduled, due to the delayed start, that there wasn't enough time to fit in a rearranged fixture. Whereas there's 3 weeks for Wimbledon to rearrange the tie before the second round.Snowman wrote:I am surprised to see Wimbledon still listed in the draw
I was under the impression that this year if you postpone a game due to Covid then the opponents get a walk over .
This is what happened to Notts County in the 4th qualifying round. Kings Lynn received a walk over to the 1st round
Re: FA Cup R2
19Don't think it matters who we get the way we are playing at the moment, we are capable of competing against every side left in and beating most, and as far as avoid lists go i would think we are top of everybody else's.
Re: FA Cup R2
20I reckon Lincoln will be be miles clear at the top of most lists, they certainly are on mine.
Re: FA Cup R2
21Not really much wriggle room within those three weeks though. Next Saturday(14th) league match is postponed because of the isolation period. Saturday 21st and Tuesday 24th, both Wimbledon and Barrow have league fixtures. Pretty sure they won't be postponed to accommodate an FA Cup tie. So really, the game must be played midweek Tues 17th with whatever team Wimbledon can muster.DT1892 wrote:I think that was only the case in the qualifying rounds because the rounds were so closely scheduled, due to the delayed start, that there wasn't enough time to fit in a rearranged fixture. 22Usually the FA Cup takes priority over league games. Whether or not that's still true for this covid season who knows.excessbee wrote:Not really much wriggle room within those three weeks though. Re: FA Cup R2
23I would've thought an FA Cup game would be prioritised over a league game, as it usually is. But if they can't rearrange it, then Barrow will go through.excessbee wrote:Not really much wriggle room within those three weeks though. Re: FA Cup R2
24I suppose another option would be to play it on the weekend of the second round. I think that has happened before, after postponements for weather. That would inconvenience another club. Best avoided.
Re: FA Cup R2
25For TV coverage, would BBC Wales go independent if we were to get a home draw? We are, after all, the only Welsh club currently in the competition.
