17Hearing virtually every day of acquaintances struck down with Covid.
First 6 months not one person I knew.
Thankfully all those stricken are younger than myself and are recovering.
Total madness.
I hear Rogerstone is rife with it now.
More than happy to enjoy my footie on my lap top this season.

18I tend to agree. We’re a matter of months away from a situation where the most vulnerable will all have had the chance to be vaccinated. When that process is complete, calling for a return to normality is legitimate. Until then, and with cases in Wales on a steep rise, it would be reckless to allow fans back in - much as we’d all like to watch a live game again.

Re: Letter to Mark Drakeford
19If you want to watch football at all this season then the reality is that we'll probably have to achieve herd immunity to Covid. This means that in excess of 70% of the worlds population will have to have the vaccination before all restrictions will be lifted. Because the richest countries have over-ordered the more likely to be effective vaccines, the third world countries will almost certainly have to wait before any vaccines reach them. This could mean that the scientific experts may set a higher percentage figure for UK or Europe to factor in travel to and from third world countries by persons not vaccinated in order to mitigate the economic effect of waiting global herd immunity.
Re: Letter to Mark Drakeford
20It may be that vaccination may be made a requirement for International travel. Quantas has already said they won’t allow the unvaccinated to travel once the vaccine has been rolled out.wattsville_boy wrote:If you want to watch football at all this season then the reality is that we'll probably have to achieve herd immunity to Covid. 21Other air carriers may not be so stringent. I forsee potential problems starting around Chinese New Year in February 2021. Based on their current population of just short of 1.5 billion inside China and 46 million outside that's a lot of vaccines in a short space of time. And that's before you consider India (1.4 billion inside, 32 million outside), Africa (1.3 billion inside and an estimated 75 million in 7 countries outside of Africa alone) or South America (430 million within continent, no figures for outside). And large parts of China, India, Pakistan, Africa and many countries in south America won't be at the front of the queue.lowandhard wrote:It may be that vaccination may be made a requirement for International travel. Be safe. Keep mingling to family, take the vaccine when offered and hope that the hundreds of vaccines currently undergoing trials prove effective, cheap to produce and available to all countries of the world in double-quick time.

22Regardless of vaccines, Australia has extended the ban on its own nationals leaving the country without a special permit until March at the earliest.
Re: Letter to Mark Drakeford
23Now that is a Country that know what they are doing.
Virtually no cases in WA.
Even locals returning across State let alone Country have to isolate for 14 days and they are checked as well.
Compare that to the clueless buffoons in the UK, including Wales & England.

24Gavin doing what he feels is right for the club, he simply doesn't have to ask the fans / owners what we think.
If we do get the go ahead from the Welsh Gov to watch again soon (doubt it though) then you don't have to go.

These clowns in charge are now closing all secondary schools tomorrow so the kids can isolate for Xmas.
Total farce as most will just be out with their mates regardless.
Aldis this afternoon.
No hand gel, no spray told lad on the till but he couldn't find any gel available.
Rammed.
Cases still climbing also.
So lets all go and watch a game of footie.

Covid19 is a virus spread via human to human contact. Those of us who believe that football in front of spectators should not go ahead until those most susceptible to serious illness have been inoculated want as much unnecessary human to human contact as possible to be avoided.
We miss football and pubs and cinemas, we miss hugging our loved ones and shaking hands with our friends. We are not killjoys, we just want as many people as possible to be around for Christmas 2021.
Re: Letter to Mark Drakeford
28Most of the recent spikes have come from schools. They're a lot safer outside in a group of mates, than 30+ packed into a classroom. They should've been moved to home/online learning this week.Frank Nouble 3 wrote:Its not okay though but the majority couldn't care less.countymadbel wrote:Went to Cardiff Sunday / Monday Christmas shopping it was manic everywhere. 29Sorry but like I stated these clowns rational is that all the secondary school children will now stay home and isolate so that they can then enjoy Xmas, not that as they will just go out, into each others homes etc.DT1892 wrote:Most of the recent spikes have come from schools. Rules are changing it seems every few days and being made on a whim it seems.
Anyway to even think about spectators at RP is just totally nuts.
Re: Letter to Mark Drakeford
30I was amazed at the simultaneous return to school and return to work.
Who looks after the kids when mum and dad are at work? Nan and grandad.
Who is the most at risk? Nan and grandad.
Either ill thought out, or deliberate. The whole response has been so haphazard that I can't help but wonder if an opportunity has been sensed amongst all this. Vulnerable people cost money and don't make any.
