Re: Game off
4Four questions:-
A couple of seasons ago the Club bought rain covers, why aren’t they ever used?
On the weekend it was said that there was a lack of ground staff due to Covid issues, but plenty of sand! Therefore has the pitch not been properly attended to in readiness for tonight’s game?
Had Cardiff Blues or Dragons been playing tonight would the match have still gone ahead?
Is RP to become the graveyard of any ambitions we may have of achieving promotion?

Can't answer the other questions but a football league ref has to inspect the pitch it's his call not ground staff etc
Rugby can go ahead on a swamp basically there was a game about 2 years back where the pitch was totally under water but they still carried on because basically rugby the ball is mostly played in hand where football is played mostly on the surface

Re: Game off
6I remember that rugby game. They played the game even though there was a danger of drowning because there was so much water on the pitch, especially at the north terrace end. I think there was another game when they tried to pump the water off the pitch but failed.UPTHEPORT wrote:Taunton Iron Cider wrote:Four questions:-

Re: Game off
7In what way. Have you made a recent assessment of the state of the pitch? What did you think it was like? How did you manage to get within the ground security cordon.rgk147 wrote:Absolute joke!
Re: Game off
9It's whether the ball will bounce on any part of the pitch when waterlogging is the problem I think.
Re: Game off
11According to the Argus both Flynn and Taylor, the Exeter manager agree with the decision.

Re: Game off
15Talk of a 2/3 week break due to the recent rise in Covid within the game and the massive spikes outside it.
